The College of Sugeons of Sri lanka

Welcome to CSSL

The College of Surgeons of Sri Lanka was formed over two decades ago with its first council of the year 1971 being headed by Dr PR Anthonis FRCS.

Its primary objectives are as follows:

  • Advancement of science and art of surgery
  • To promote post-graduate education in surgery
  • To monitor and maintain standards of excellence in surgical care
  • Prevention of surgical morbidity
  • To promote contact and fellowship among those engaged in the practice and advancement of surgery


Surgical Education and Training Session (SETS)

A novel approach to surgical education in Sri Lanka: Participants at regional centres Ruhuna, Peradeniya and Jaffna will be video linked live in the monthly common clinical scenario based lecture discussions on essential surgical topics for post graduate trainees in Surgery.
