International Chapter
The College of Surgeons of Sri Lanka initiates, an international chapter as it seeks to expand its ambit. Membership of this chapter will be by invitation only. Through this chapter we wish to identify trainers and well wishers of this college. It is felt that there is a need to retain international links. Further many trainees who return to Sri Lanka often lose contact with their trainers and vice versa and this is a loss felt both by the trainee and the trainer.
Invitees who join this chapter will be entitled to registration at the Annual Academic Session of the college at local rates. We would be pleased if they would consent to deliver plenary lecture and function as resource persons at our workshops held throughout the year and at the Academic Sessions.
Invitees can further access the college travel agent, if they wish to visit Sri Lanka. I am sure their trainees will be delighted to show them true Sri Lankan hospitality. International chapter members will receive copies of the college news letter 'Suture', which may enable them to follow the progress of their trainees.
Membership of the international chapter is initially for a period of five years. There is no membership fee. We hope this link will encourage all our trainers and well wishers to visit Sri Lanka and the college.
Over the course of the next few months we will identify and invite potential members to join this international group of surgeons, and we request our members to forward to us, the names and contact details of their trainers.
